Sous Chef

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join the team at Royal College of Nursing.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a predominantly Monday to Friday operation, delivering exceptional hospitality and events within one of London's leading conference and event venues. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in maintaining culinary standards, supporting the kitchen team, and delivering outstanding experiences for our guests and clients.

About the role.

Kitchen Operations

  • Deliver exceptional food across hospitality and event operations, ensuring consistently high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Support menu development and the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
  • Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety.

People & Leadership

  • Lead by example, supporting and developing chefs and kitchen porters.
  • Help create a positive, professional, and collaborative kitchen culture.
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure seamless event delivery.

Financial & Commercial Performance

  • Support stock control, ordering, and labour planning to maintain an efficient operation.
  • Help manage food cost, minimise waste, and uphold kitchen standards.

Communication & Standards

  • Work closely with the Head Chef and events teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Maintain full compliance with food safety, health and safety, and company standards.
